Will ordinary dvds still play on the new blu-ray and hd dvd players?

Yes, they will be retro compatible. I think Blu-Ray will win simply because (and I%26#39;m quite serious about this) it has a cooler, catchier name. The little things count.

The new, high definition DVD technology, which includes Blu-Ray and Toshiba%26#39;s HDDVD is in its infancy and thus very expensive. I%26#39;d wait a while for the creases to iron out and the price to go down. You don%26#39;t need it yet.

Also, there%26#39;s no apostrophe in players.
