I always wondered why they go for 9 and not a round number like 10 minutes... any suggestions??
Answer:
Try adjusting yur setting, mine is 2 minutes. Someone once told me it was because it%26#39;s the average amount of time someone needs to fall completly back asleep. Not all of them do..You can actually set your snooze to go off every 5 minutes if you want.i think this just might be a default setting. i would like to know that also lol. http://www.jewishworldreview.com/0903/gl... some you can set for as little as 5 seconds...
More than 5 minutes and the person could just keep swatting the snooze button. They have to be close enough together to prevent falling back asleep... and far enough apart that the person won%26#39;t just flip the alarm off to prevent being annoyed. 9 minutes is just when you can begin phase 2 sleep, deeper sleep.
Quite clever fellas, these clock makers! You can buy clocks that snooze for 10 minutes, 9 minutes, and ones that you can set to meet your own personal needs. I personally have to have an alarm that goes off in 9 minute increments or some other odd number. The thing is that with a ten minute alarm it is easy for me to look at the clock and calculate exactly how much time I will have to get ready if I hit snooze just one more time. Nine minutes is just too hard to add up while I am half asleep. BECAUSE IF IT WENT FOR TEN, YOU WOULD BE EXPECTING IT AND YOU WOULD%26#39;T BE ABLE TO GO BACK TO SLEEP. Wonderful question... There is scientific proof that sleep paterns are best when it comes to 3%26#39;s..it%26#39;s better to sleep for 30 mintues than 35..for example .so when they designed the allarm clock ..3 minutes was not long enough and neither was 6 so they settled on 9 minutes i know this because my brother inlaw is a pschycologist who explained this exact question when i asked him .. because it is part of a sleeping pattern Thats what i WANT TO KNOW! BADLY!
