Haven%26#39;t figured out how to set up the video yet.
It%26#39;s hard to get the Beta max tapes now, I%26#39;ve been thinking about getting one of them new fangled VHS ones me...and i still have a turntable and record albums...and a working 8 track player with tapes to go with it. me ,why, lol No... I never had any good VHS%26#39;s anyways. have both u cant get some things on dvd (the good old classics) so im keeping my video player haha me. I like them better. They don%26#39;t skip when they are slightly scracthed (if they can get scratched at all.) I do. I still have a lot of favorites on VHS. I do have a DVD player, so I%26#39;m not a total Luddite. i have dvd/vhs combo on a 65" hd tv with a 300 watt surround system and a xbox 360 also premium hdtv digtal cable on demand We use both--just bought "Little Miss Sunshine" on DVD last weekend--but I can%26#39;t see myself ever transferring all my
VHS tapes to DVD; the cost would be prohibitive.
Good luck. I use both.
I use DVDs to to record things I want to keep, because of the superior picture quality and the ability to skip quickly to specific tracks.
But I use VHS tape for things I probably only want to see once, because tapes are cheap and are easily erasable. I use both, and I am also going to buy a USB turntable so that I can put all my old lp%26#39;s onto CD or DVD.
I can%26#39;t get rid of my VHS I have too many home videos on them, it would cost me a fortune to convert them all to DVD, and apparently DVD%26#39;s only have a lifespan of 10 years, and then they start to degrade. VHS? I still have a black and white television set. Why invest in new technology when the old stuff will do? I DO AS WELL. I HAVE GOT A BIG COLLECTION OF THE TAPES. NOT THROWING THEM AWAY. THEY WERE GOOD BEFORE AND THEY ARE GOOD NOW TOO .
