Will my UK television set DVD player work when I move to Dublin?

I am moving from the UK to Ireland and want to take my TV and DVD player with me. Will it work over there?

Answer:

nope, you%26#39;ll have to buy new ones !, we don%26#39;t like britt sh*t around here ...

are you daft or something ? of course it will work, electrics here have the same voltage and socking as there Why not? If you move to US there will be problem, but not here in EU. If you bought it in the UK , it will work over here. yes they will its all in the pal system Yeah sure, as Ireland is in the UK. Same plugs, etc. I%26#39;ll bet me LUCKY CHARMS..

Oh wait...you probably don%26#39;t have that Cereal..

Yeah, it%26#39;ll work. Dvd player will work, your tv will work but you will not be able to pick up tv signals on it, they will be scrambled, something to do with transmission wavelenghts. We moved over a while ago and would never go back.

If its a newish TV it will work, Some of the older ones wont tune in. If you have the choice in your tuning menu to pick different countries/Regions it will Work

DVD no problem, same voltage etc

One of our older TV%26#39;s wouldnt tune in, but we still use the scart inputs on it depends on the format of what you%26#39;re watching if your dvd player play pal and ntsc then yes it will work fine
