Will a DVD player play divX?

If i burn a a divX video onto a dvd will it play in a regular dvd player? if not what file format should i convert it to?. i want to burn a 400 mb file onto a dvd and dont want to waste the time if it isnt going to work

Answer:

The DVD player must be DivX Certified. You can find ones that are off the DivX website. I have a certified one from Phillips and works great. Some do. Depends on which one it is. Try it. It may work with yours. 768 surely no
