I want to buy a High Definition DVD Player, but I rather wait and let the High Definition DVD players develop with more advance features.
Answer:
There are 2 standards, Blue Ray (Sony, the makers of Beta) and HD-DVD (Toshiba, Microsoft and a host of other companies). Both display in 1920x1080 and will scale down to 720p. From what I%26#39;ve gathered the difference between 1080i and 1080p is the device displaying the image. 1080i is interlaced video produced by projectors where 1080 is progressive video displayed by plasma, lcd and dlp%26#39;s. Both 1080i and 1080p have a resolution of 1920x1080.
Unless you%26#39;re going to watch a good deal of HD movies I%26#39;d wait for the price of the players to drop a little. In the mean time you can buy a standard dvd player with an upconvert and get a pretty nice picture. I agree on your concept, but in the mean time a up-convert DVD player give you near HD quality for around 100 bucks(mine was only $70).It also uses a HDMI/DVI interface
