I attempted to rent "Stranger than Fiction" twice and both times, my DVD player would not load the DVD. I was told by the clerk at "Hollywood Vide", that it%26#39;s a "manufacturing" flaw. Is this true? It seems that the DVD%26#39;s for rent would be compatible with all players.
Answer:
Very strange. If there is a manufacturing flaw your video store should have taken it off the shelves. DVD%26#39;s are regionalised insofar as a DVD manufactured in US will not play in a British DVD player unless it is a multi-region DVD player. A British-made DVD would not play in an American DVD player. The US/Canada/Caribbean is Region 1 for DVD while Britain/Europe is Region 2 and Asia is Region 3. Check the DVD box or jacket to ensure the DVD is the right region for your locality - an imported copy might have slipped through by mistake
