hello, i bought a used ps3 recently and it wont play any of my ps2 games including gt4 and mlb 2k6! it provides an error that states something about "region restrictions"
does anyone know what is wrong?? i downloaded the latest software upgrade already

PS3 is region free for PS3 games.
If trying to play PS1 or PS2 games they must be from the region your machine is from...have you confirmed this?
Also, PS3 is not 100% backwards compatible...look here for the list:

but what i think it is, is that only the newer games only work on it.
