Why does my computer take forever to come on? Once it finally does, its very fast.goes to sleep when

Answer:

Usually this is due to too many items being loaded at startup. Check your startup folders and look on Google for things like %26#39;Speeding up Windows Boot%26#39; and the like.

On a lot of computers, having a USB flash drive connected will also massively slow boot time. Why I don%26#39;t know, but we have this problem at work.. You probably have a lot of programs starting on boot. You can change the program settings to not start on boot, or go to start-%26gt;run and type in "msconfig", go to the Startup tab and choose what you want to startup or not startup on boot.

You can change the sleep settings by right clicking on the desktop and clicking on properties. Then click on the "Screen Saver" tab and click on the "Power..." button towards the bottom. There you can change the sleep settings.
