Yes Mic to Mixer to Computer will work.
If your computer sound card does not have RCA inputs you will need a "Y" adapter from the mixer%26#39;s RCA outputs to your computer%26#39;s 1/8" mini input.
You can get the "Y" adapter at almost any audio store, computer store, Radio Shack, music store %26 most big box stores like Wal-Mart. It looks like this:

The Shure Beta 58A microphone is a good mic, in fact it%26#39;s the mic I use most often for vocals. But it%26#39;s a dynamic microphone, which means it%26#39;s best used for live performance in front of an audience.
Shure Beta 58A Mic $160

http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/live_so... Without a doupt my friend.I have a home recording studio set up and i run a sure beta 58 to my mixer then out from the mixer into the microphone jack on my computer..all you need is an adapter that goes from 1/4 inch to 1/8..and for best quality i would go stereo..get two 1/4 lines out from left and right on the mixer to a 1/8 stereo jack you can get these adapters at your local radioshack or "the source" if you live in canada.that way you will get full stereo when you record on your computer other wise you%26#39;ll end up with a mono recording and when you play it back it will end up only being in the left side speakers and that%26#39;s not what you want..if you are a recording and sound junky like me then you%26#39;ll strive for the best sound you can get..If you want more info please feel free to email me at roncaron@walla.com
