My projector has HD capabilities (720p),will this plug work if I use it to connect to my projectors HD input while using my dvd players output (480p)? Will it make the image more clear?

In a nutshell, no. The HD output of the projector cannot increase the resolution of the image input into it. The display will probably take the original input and "size it up" to the output resolution. The projector will simply, in this particular case, use 1 and a half lines of resolution to display each line that is sent from the source. If you bought a video scaler, you could scale up the resolution, and get a better image, using the projector. Be advised though, that some projection devices won%26#39;t accept unmatched resolution inputs, or non-HD inputs into an HD port.
