Will the merger between Sirius and XM mean customers will have to buy new receivers to receive all c

Answer:

No. Howard Stern has talked about this happening and he says nothing will change except for sirius adding a few more channels. Sorry Oprah channel, you probably will be cancelled. Stern rules! It%26#39;s much too soon to say. The new monopoly has not even been approved. I have read that, if the merger goes through, customers will have to purchase new receivers if they want to receive both Sirius and XM signals and content.

FCC had decreed but never enforced a requirement that satellite operators manufacture receivers that can receive both signals.

Sorry, Howie fans, Oprah %26 Friends will continue to live their best life...
