Why would a data cdwr work in a dvd player but a dvdwr data disk does not?

I have a dvd recorder and it says it plays mp3%26#39;s so why won%26#39;t they play when they are on a dvd like a cd.

Answer:

some dvd players simply cannot play some burned dvd discs even if they are not video and they are just mp3%26#39;s. There is DVD-R DVD+R DVD-RW DVD+RW

Check the front of your DVD player for the Logos. It is quite possible it does not support +-/RW but it should support DVD-R and it may support DVD+R
