I used to where two hearing aids but one got so bad cos it whistled all the time i had to stop wearing it. Now I only wear 1 and it%26#39;s just as bad. Even on the lowest volume it still whistles like mad! it%26#39;s doing my head in, it%26#39;s so damn annoying! can someone please tell me how to stop it. ta.
Answer:
oh boy do I have experience on this one seeing as my husband wears 2 and when he "whistles" drive me insane.
the reason for the wistle is air into the aid, it will do this if you hold it in your hand or put it by an electronic device (outside the ears)
anyway... you either need new tubes or new ear fittings (assuming its a behind the ear aid) Its what my husband has .. I would imagine if its one of the smaller in the ear or canal aids then you have an improper fit as well. The aids rely on a tight fit and if your aid or tubing is lose it will whistle
hope it helps ... I%26#39;m not too sure, I%26#39;m not a doctor or anything, but the battery could be wasted. Mine whistles if I have the volume set too high, try turning yours down a bit...if that doesn%26#39;t work then try changing the battery, and if that doesn%26#39;t work you will have to go back to where you got it from and have them change the settings.....
I don%26#39;t rate my digital one that highly... prefer the older one. This one has been set so that when I use my loop at home I can still hear people speaking in the same room as me...the old one was just set for the loop....much better! Guess I will have to get the settings changed on mine... I think the batteries need changing this happened with my father in laws and when the batteries were changed it stopped whistling. Go back to your ent dr to get them changed Hi there, it usually means that you need to change the battery or the hearing aid itself doesn%26#39;t fit properly, but try the battery first.
