Why did "The Clapper" never catch on?

Seriously, this bugs me!

I would have thought that invention would really take off.

I bought one, and it was great... but i think the reason that it didn%26#39;t catch on is that many people were too lazy to clap their hands, or go buy it. or maybe dat many people were making love and kept turning on and off their lights constantly Most people feel like morons clapping to turn a light on. It%26#39;s more of a novelty item now.
