Why are regular markers bad for marking on cds?

Answer:

It%26#39;s not that they are bad for the CDs, it%26#39;s that the ink from regular alcohol-based markers doesn%26#39;t adhere to the plastic CD surface and wipes off too easily. Special markers are needed that stick to the CD surface. If you are talking about a regular permanent marker. Well I%26#39;m no expert but I%26#39;ve wrote on my Cd%26#39;s with them for years and it never messed them up.
