Why cant they make solar batteries that automatically recharge themselves when thrown into the sunli

Why couldn%26#39;t they just take traditional AAA, AA, C, %26 D cell batteries, %26 wrap the outsides with something useful, such as a solar panel wrapping.

When your batteries go dead, toss em on a sunny window sill, come back later for a fully recharged battery. No muss, no fuss, %26 no expensive charging equipement in the way?

Seems like a good idea to me..., put the charger on the battery?

What do you think?

Answer:

In my opinion it has to do with money. If you recharge your batteries all the time, you don%26#39;t need to buy new ones. And well, that would bring profits down.
