Here%26#39;s what I want. I want to speak into my microphone and have that sound come out of my speakers (nice loud surround sound) as I am speaking. I can%26#39;t get my PC to do that!!
I can record stuff using windows sound recorder software. As I am speaking, I can see it getting recorded but nothing comes out of the speakers. Later when I play it back, I can hear whatever got recorded. This sounds simple, but how in the world do I do it?
Answer:
You need another recording application. Generally, if you hook up your mic to the mic input socket on your PC, and talk, you should be able to hear yourself out of the speakers at that point(without even starting any recording application).
If you can, but when you run the application, the speakers are mute, then the recording application is muting the speakers to prevent feedback.
Feedback is a very real problem when recording from a mic, if the mic is anywhere in front of the speakers.
This is why at concerts, the mics are BEHIND the PA speakers that blow the ears off the audience!
